How It Works

Resilience teaches reading through an innovative partnership with Amira, populated with inspiring stories from The Book of Virtues.

In South Carolina, the SC Department of Education has made Resilience available for the first 10,000 2nd-6th graders for the ’24-’25 school year through an Innovation Grant, at no cost to the district. Email us at the link below to learn more.

With stories of inspirational figures like Dr. Mary McCloud Bethune and timeless treasures from The Book of Virtues, students will learn to read from lessons that inspire hope and possibility, anchored in the following virtues:

More About Amira

Amira Learning marries speech recognition and artificial intelligence with the Science of Reading to deliver personalized, real time tutoring to students as they practice reading.

As students read passages aloud from the canon of treasures curated by Dr. Bill Bennett, Amira listens and assesses. When students struggle, Amira provides in-the-moment feedback and support. Using its intelligent voice recognition, every child is reading in their own voice, at their own level—in English or Spanish—with moment-by-moment support from Amira.

What’s more, Amira provides teachers with reports that contain detailed and secure data on the progress of each student. The focus on reading skills provides teachers with the most up-to-date and effective instructional tools.

Note: In SC, Resilience comes at no cost to the first 10,000 students whose schools are committed to implementing the program with fidelity, thanks to an Innovation Grant from the SC Department of Education.

Amira is Used by More Than 2 Million Students in 900 Districts and 15 Countries Across the Globe
